Federal regulations banned krill fishing in U.S. Pacific waters, ending a multi-year advocacy campaign led by Oceana and others. As a primary component in the diet of salmon, whales, seabirds and other animals, krill play an essential role in the health of ocean ecosystems.

In an effort to improve the safety of pedestrians on it’s campus, the University of Santa Barbara has just installed a skateboard lane through the main campus corridor.
It’s a pilot program and they’ll have to see how well it works before they decide whether to install more lanes around campus.

Is Your Sunscreen Safe?

The Environmental Working Group, (EWG), just published their new review of 482 beach and sport sunscreens and found that 3 out of 5 sunscreens offer inadequate protection from the sun or contain ingredients with significant safety concerns.
