Free Skin Cancer Screening in Florida

February 27th, 2008 · No Comments

The Tampa Bays Rays are teaming up with the Moffitt Cancer Center to strike out skin cancer!

Called the “Spring Swing”, this is a partnership between Moffitt Cancer Center and the Tampa Bay Rays, offering free skin cancer screenings at specified baseball Spring Training venues throughout the month of March 2008.

The first event is Saturday, March 1st, when the Tampa Bay Rays play the Blue Jays in St. Petersburg at Progress Energy Park.

The screenings are intended to detect early signs of skin cancer and also promote sun safety and skin cancer awareness and education.

The tour hits eight baseball games across Florida during the month of March. Go to moffitt.org for the complete lineup.

As you know it’s important to protect kids from over-exposure to the sun’s UV rays as skin cancer is most often caused by the accumulated effects of getting sunburned and that accumulation starts in childhood. One easy and economical way for you to protect your children is with our kids rash guards. They provide SPF 150+ protection that lasts all day and won’t wash off and doens’t have to be re-applied. :-)
